Point 1: That's because framing it that was has become a capital-c Conservative political strategy, and most Americans' memory goes back approximately a week.

There is an understandable reflexive reaction to seeing a value suddenly usurped by a political group, and second-guessing yourself. If the GOP, a political party that has almost always defended the powerful, decided tomorrow that protecting the rights of LGBT people were a deeply conservative issue and that portraying liberals as a bunch of homophobes was part of that strategy, people would probably wonder if homosexuality is a marker of privilege, too."

This sub had mentioned how modern IDPOL and anti-semitism shares a huge overlap in rhetoric and themes.

Although I enjoy berating the masses and their lack of intellectual curiosity, I find it also to be lazy, to cast that mental shortcut so reflexively without looking for other causes.

Personally, I think there's a dual current in American culture, where there is a love of Jewish ingenuity and artistry, but at the same time, those that dip their toes in the anti-semitic tropes about Hollywood, banking, and any other extreme left/right conspiracy theories.

From what I've read, the sociological definitions of privilege tend to entail that being a member of a privileged group is likely to give you benefits at the cost of others, help you integrate as the "norm" and give you easier access to positions of power.

So I've just been kind of curious. I notice that Jewish people tend to make up less than 1% of the US population, but tend to be much more successful on average than the average person.

According to Forbes, out of the 442 billionaires in America, 105 are Jewish (24%). According to this page by the Jewish Federations of North America (http://www.jewishfederations.org/page.aspx?id=46193), Jewish people tend to (on a per person basis) be more educated, be more likely to occupy higher level positions, and have more income than the average American. I looked on the List of American Politicians as well (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jewish_American_politicians) and there seem to be a decent number of representatives and senators who are Jewish.

The popular media tends to represent Jewish people to great extent as well. I'm sure most of us can make a big list of Jewish actors, characters, directors, producers etc. Things and people like Borat, Natalie Portman, and South Park.

I'd just like to point out I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything. I'm an Asian person who lives in Canada so admittedly, I'm probably missing something. I realize that Jewish people tend to be hated on a lot by conspiracy theorists and white nationalists. But am I wrong in thinking that being Jewish is overall a privilege?

The mainstream folk realize that for some Jews life hasn't been easy... but for the extremists who view the "other" as a conspiracy against them usually views Jews as having unearned privilege (i.e. Henry Ford and his publication of the "International Jew").

There is one country though in which jewish people are privileged over others due to being Jewish and that's Israel. 

Jewish people can experience white privilege because they’re often considered white. This is the case especially when comparing “judeo Christian values,” to the rest of the world. This is only in certain situations not a constant state of being. Of course the moment Jews aren’t useful to the right anymore they’re back to being discriminated.

You'd have to be a fucking retard to think Jews have it worse than any community in the US except for WASPs. And even then.

yeah reading the Equalities Survey in the UK and seeing Jewish median wealth is pretty fucking nuts.

With the way the media goes on about Antisemitism, Jesus fucking christ, I will take all the "thinly veiled antizionism is antisemitism" if I fucking sat on a median wealth of 600k.

It's amazing that literally the wealthiest demographic in the country get to dominate almost all discourse in this country while facing no structural issues at all.
